Naser and Patricia Shahrivar's works of art are being collected all across the country. Together, Naser and Patricia work well as a team, striving for perfection and critiquing each other's work. The couple uses their artistic diversity and strive to create realistic representations of the subjects, emphasizing on elegance and poise. They were recipients of a Best in show ribbon both times they displayed in 1994 and 1996 at the Iowa Wetlands Show.

Naser was born in 1951, in Tehran, Iran. As a child Naser dreamed of Arts as an occupation, which his parents were opposed to, forcing him to paint in secrecy. In coming to the U.S. for an education in architecture he later changed his major to art. He graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a bachelor's degree in graphics and fine arts in 1982. Naser began doing free-lance artwork and teaching art classes part-time. Later becoming interested in wildlife in 1989 he entered for the first time the Iowa Habitat Stamp Competition and received third place and again the following year fourth place. His most recent interests are in landscapes and Americana. Naser greatly admires nature and architectural landmarks and portrays this upon his canvas using rich choices of colors.

Patricia, born in 1958, a native Iowan, also had the dream of becoming an artist as a profession. After child rearing, in 1985 Patricia took up painting again. She continues to paint and enter competitions and has received many ribbons and honors for her work. In 1990 she placed 2nd in the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Duck Stamp Competition and received third place in the Habitat Stamp of the same year. In 1992 she received a third place ribbon in the Pheasants Forever Non-game Species Print of the year Competition. The art of Patricia illustrates her passions for floral, still life, and portraiture.

In 1987 the Shahrivar family relocated to Guttenberg, Iowa. They were intrigued by the beautiful surroundings, serenity, nature, and by the Old Brewery building which they purchased and began restoring. This abandoned and unappealing building was thought to most as a building to be torn down, but the Shahrivar's transformed the building into a unique gallery, bed &breakfast, and photography/artist studio. After the better half of two decades Naser and Patricia decided to start a new chapter in their life by opening the Art and Gift Center in Central City. By renovating a bank that had been through a fire into a thriving center for art, Naser and Pat hope to make Central City their new home.
